Shubham & Sharmishtha

When Five Different Worlds Came to Life at Fairmont Jaipur

Sharmishtha - Miss Legacy Universe 2020, Miss India CP Finalist. Shubham - co-owner of Bastian & Krystal Integrated Services, son of Prasad Lad, Member of Legislative Council, Maharashtra. When two people like this celebrate their wedding, ordinary was never going to be an option.

Over three days at Fairmont Jaipur, Konark Weddings built five completely distinct decor worlds - each one a different event, a different palette, a different emotional register. The week opened with Ruhani Raat, a Sufi night by the pool where thousands of candles, shamadaans, grand chandeliers, and an ittar bar turned the water's edge into a candlelit sanctuary of fragrance and devotion.

The haldi moved to Saheliyon Ki Baadi for The Abstract Edit - possibly the most unconventional haldi decor we have ever designed. No marigolds, no predictable palette. Instead: bold geometric shapes, colour-block installations, pop-art energy, and eclectic furniture that turned a heritage garden into a living art piece.

The sangeet brought the Grand Ballroom to life as The Midnight Fringe Soirée - a midnight jazz club world of burgundy and magenta florals, fringe lamps, a glowing hexagonal centre stage, and a dynamic light ceiling that shifted with the energy of the night. Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra, and Remo D'Souza were in the room. The energy matched.

The wedding ceremony was Threads of Paithani - our first traditional Maharashtrian wedding design, and one of the most personally meaningful projects we have undertaken. We immersed ourselves in the culture before we touched a sketchpad. The mandap was built with temple-inspired intricacy, draped entirely in Paithani silk, and surrounded by brass bells, saffron blooms, mogra, and a Varapoje setup that felt like walking into a grandmother's home on the most important day of the family's life. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Diya Kumari, Deputy CM of Rajasthan, were among the guests who witnessed it.

The reception closed the week as Chandani Haveli - a Sheesh Mahal-inspired world of towering theekri mirror structures, soft pink florals, and a sundowner varmala set against a shimmering reflective pool as golden hour light bounced off every mirror surface.

Five worlds. Three days. One celebration that reminded us why we do this.
